The 30th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT 2025) unfolded over three dynamic days at the Dubai World Trade Centre, uniting global industry leaders, government dignitaries, academic innovators, and cutting-edge exhibitors. With over 31,000 visitors from 101 countries and approximately 1,400 global companies in attendance, the event set a new benchmark for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors in the Middle East and beyond.

Inauguration and Leadership Engagement

The event was formally inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. He was joined by prominent figures including Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, and His Excellency Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Executive Chairman of DUPHAT and Roving Ambassador of the Parliamentary Assembly of Mediterranean for the GCC. Their presence underscored the UAE’s commitment to advancing pharmaceutical innovation, international collaboration, and sustainable healthcare development.

DUPHAT 2025 epitomized the convergence of scientific excellence, market innovation, and strategic leadership. By integrating high-caliber exhibitions, educational initiatives, groundbreaking trade deals, and pioneering academic programs, the event not only celebrated three decades of industry evolution but also charted a progressive path forward. The comprehensive and multifaceted nature of DUPHAT 2025 has firmly established the UAE as a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation and healthcare advancement, setting the stage for future growth and international collaboration.

Exhibition, Scientific Sessions, and Industry Show

DUPHAT 2025 offered a robust platform where exhibitors and thought leaders converged to present the latest breakthroughs in pharmaceutical technology and healthcare solutions:

  • Exhibits & Global Participation:

Approximately 1,400 exhibiting companies showcased innovative products and advanced medical technologies from countries such as Poland, China, Turkey, and Iran. Delegates explored expansive pavilions and country-specific showcases, gaining insights into novel therapies and state-of-the-art solutions.

  • Scientific and Educational Programs:

The conference featured 155 expert speakers, 130 scientific sessions, and 9 professional workshops. University students contributed to the event by presenting 400 research posters on contemporary medical innovations. Participants earned a total of 83.5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours, accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (42.5 hours), the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia/Advanced Pharmacy Australia (21.5 hours), and the International Congress for Health Specialties (19.5 hours).

  • Key Topics and Discussions:

High-level sessions addressed themes such as pharmacy management and leadership, the therapeutic potential of targeting bone formation proteins in diabetic retinopathy, interdisciplinary approaches to patient safety, proactive health and clinical management, and innovative medication strategies for diabetes and obesity.

  • VitaShow Dubai:

A dedicated segment of the event, VitaShow Dubai, spotlighted the rapidly evolving dietary supplements market. With participation from over 275 leading global brands—highlighting China’s extensive pavilion—the exhibition addressed the burgeoning demand for vitamins, plant extracts, functional foods, and fortified supplements. Market forecasts indicate that the MENA dietary supplement sector is poised to grow at an annual rate of 7.1%, reaching approximately $11.709 billion by 2028, while the broader nutraceutical market is projected to hit $24.23 billion by 2030 with a growth rate of 17%.

Academic Innovation and New Initiatives

A significant milestone during DUPHAT 2025 was the launch of the DUPHAT Pharmaceutical College. In collaboration with the Abdulsalam AlMadani Global Education Center and UCAM University in Murcia, Spain, this new institution aims to advance pharmaceutical education and research. It will offer an array of programs, from diplomas and executive courses to master’s and doctoral degrees, designed to nurture the next generation of innovative pharmacists and researchers, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery both regionally and globally.

His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior visited DUPHAT 2025 and toured the exhibition and visited several country pavilions, where he was briefed on the leading pharmaceutical products showcased by the companies and the latest technologies in the field. He also engaged with officials from the pavilions, discussing the displayed products and the role of advanced medical technologies in enhancing community safety.

As part of his visit, His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, witnessed the launching of DUPHAT Pharmaceutical College, a new destination dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical science and research. The college, established in collaboration between the Abdulsalam AlMadani Global Education Center and UCAM University in Murcia, Spain, offers a wide range of programs, including doctorate degrees, master’s degrees, diplomas, executive programs, and specialized courses.

Economic Impact and Market Leadership

The event not only served as a hub for scientific and educational exchange but also delivered significant economic outcomes. Over the three-day period, DUPHAT 2025 facilitated direct and indirect trade deals valued at AED 9.35 billion. This achievement reinforces the UAE’s strategic position as a leading pharmaceutical and healthcare hub, aligned with national objectives such as market growth targets under the National Drug Policy. Furthermore, the presence of leading companies like GSK—which emphasized community-focused initiatives and pharmacy-based vaccination programs—and emerging players such as iNova Pharmaceuticals, with its expanded lineup including innovative products like Betadine Cold Defense, highlighted the event’s role in driving both commercial success and public health advancements.
